Materials and Energy Branch

ISTD’s Materials and Energy Branch develops new materials and engineers new approaches to improve energy conversion, storage, and efficiency. Innovations focus primarily on electrochemical systems (e.g., advanced batteries and fuel cells systems) but also target other advanced energy systems designs. Contributions range from novel materials fabrication and application methods to cyberphysical (i.e., hybrid computational and experimental) design and simulations of scaled power plants.
